War machines… designed only for one purpose, and one purpose alone… There’s no place nor time for making things beautiful. Performance and effectiveness over everything else. The natural beauty of primal creation. I am a great advocate of performance first, looks after philosophy. This is why everything of military descendance is automatically attracting my twisted mind. It stands so peacefully, so calm and innocent… Even children are treating it as a toy now… It’s quite hard to believe that this immobilised steel monster was once something you have never wished to see outside your worst nightmare. What does it tell us? Well, it means that everything depends on how it is used. Doesn’t matter what was the original purpose of creation; everything can be used to do harm or good. We’ve got the choice and we can decide what to do with it. Of course no one is designing and building a tank to deliver gummy bears… but, you get the point. I think this is another reason why I love it so much. Something so dangerous, violent and born to be straight evil… is just sitting around nice trees, beautiful clouds and green grass; serving as an attraction for kids and families… Chilling like a retired serial killer amongst normal citizens after years of successful hunts… I will just leave you there… Take a moment to appreciate this flesh ripping, bone crushing, skin melting piece of art…

” Dunno One ” by tgchan ( Sony A6500 + Sony Zeiss 24mm f/1.8 )

There are so many artists… Even more people with all sorts of talents… It scares me… It scares me that there are so many amazing individuals the world does not know about? Why? Why do they have to live a life of an unknown? Why some people, very often less talented, climb the ladder of success while the rest, more deserved of that place, have to live a lesser life? It looks like having a talent and knowing about it is just not enough to be out there. You have to make yourself visible. You can’t be famous or even appreciated if the world doesn’t know about your existence. Death is the last scream your personality makes before it vanishes forever. I mean, even if you get all the ovations you can get, but you are still dead, what is it good for? You either make it on time, or it doesn’t matter… Unless you dream about some fame after your departure to another life. The one thing that scares me even more is not finding your real talent before it’s too late, or ever at all. I am genuinely scared of living my life the wrong way. ” Remember, the saddest thing in life is wasted talent. You could have all the talent in the world, but if you don’t do the right thing, then nothing happens. ” – A Bronx Tale (1993)

” Decoloured ” by tgchan ( Pentax K-5 II s + SMC Pentax-F 50mm F2.8 Macro )

” What you see, what you feel… sometimes can go two different ways. Everything turns green, blooms, birds happily chirping, frogs croaking, colours have invaded dark and boring places… spring is here. It is warm, very warm, almost summer-like too warm, but the wind is making it all nice. Everything is so cheerful, happy and so damn alive… I am not unhappy or sad… unsettled and a little lost perhaps… I wish I could synchronise better with all beautiful life around me, derive more pleasure and satisfaction from where I am and what I have. Some things are sprouting and growing full of life, others shrivelling up and dying left alone… Spring, the time when yang is aggressively taking back what yin took not such a long time ago… I can see so many beautiful colours, I am so grey inside… I can feel so much life around me, yet I can barely live and feel my own. I can feel I become desaturated even more. The process of decolourisation is eating me alive, corroding my being and mind. Shake it off, shake it off, regain control. Bring the colours back to your life. There is love. “

” Four Brothers ” by tgchan ( Pentax K-5 II s + SMC Pentax-F 50mm F2.8 Macro )

” Four Brothers have finally come together… It has been decades since they have all met. They all came up from the same parents. They all grew up together. Unfortunately, life have divided their lives and spread them across the globe. Busy with their careers, work and other activities, they rarely even had time to talk to each other. All is past now though… They’re together, close, united once again. So much to share, so much to talk about, get up to speed, make up for all those years of not caring. They have missed each other so much… It is so unfortunate that such sad event had to be the reason for their meeting. Their beloved parents… gone, forever and ever echoing in their painfully shattered minds. They are all sitting silently together now, watching the sun going down and down. It’s nice… Everything has been taken care of, everything has been done. They can finally relax, and slowly learn how to let this go… It’s warm and cosy. The sun is still giving so much warmth, even though it’s so low… It’s so warm and cosy… “

” Colour Bender ” by tgchan ( Pentax K-5 II s + SMC Pentax-F 50mm F2.8 Macro )

” The legend says, if you mix a number of correct colours you can get one wish, and it can be whatever you want. I have been mixing them for a while now, I have also wished for the same thing many times. See, the problem with my wish is that it may take years or even decades to find out, if it worked or not. I do not lose my hope though. What you see on the photograph here is my latest creation. A very rare arrangement of carefully selected coloured objects. If that didn’t work, I must have been really close with this one. The sun was shining just perfectly, giving it just right amount of little warm haze. The rays of the sun were piercing transparent plastic flesh with high precision, pushing beautiful saturated colours out of their physical form. A pinch of shadows here and there gave it a final touch. I am really impressed. There is something lacking here though, and I can’t pinpoint what it is. Maybe the blue is just not blue enough, hmm. Maybe the angle is not right, hmm let’s see… Oh fuck that plenty~!! I have been arranging some stupid plastic spoons and whatever that is with three pointy fucking things sticking out, moving left and right for more than an hour~!! Sweating my ass for what!? Some stupid thing that is not even real!? Eat it~!! “

” The Touch Of A Woman ” by tgchan ( Canon EOS 70D + Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5–5.6 IS STM )

” The Touch of a Woman… They are quite similar to cats, you know? They are both connoisseurs of comfort, but cats… well, they lack ability to create those warm and cosy places on their own. Women on the other hand, they are quite skilful with those things. A quick glance at some place, and you know there was a female presence around. It is really interesting. Women look for males who can give them security, and males look for females who can give them this special cosiness that their mother used to create for them. It all goes in circles. Why am I even surprised with this discovery… Everything in nature works like that. A big fucking wheel of correlation. All nice and tidy, items placed carefully and with a great thought. Colours are not random and everything must go with the rest of the surrounding. It gives me a headache… I like it, but I would never follow all those rules. I know how to create a super cosy place for myself, and I don’t need all this bullshit that this should suit that etc. I like it, I have it. Done. Simple as that. I wouldn’t give up something I like only because it doesn’t go well with the rest of the room or something, fuck that. Going back to the woman’s touch, I truly admire their commitment, and their sense of setting up things the way they do; most of the time anyways There is something special about it, not doubt. Even though, I don’t genuinely know exactly what it is. Must be some kind of womanly magic I guess. I have been trying to capture the beauty of my mother’s bedroom for quite a while now, but only recently, I think I have finally got it. Admire. “

” I Do Not Know ” by tgchan ( Pentax K-5 II s + SMC Pentax-F 50mm F2.8 Macro )

” I don’t know… If you are reading this, there is a good chance that you are probably looking at one of my last photographs as well. It came out of nowhere… really. How could I not see this coming… I had a hard time bringing back something worthy from my last journeys. I should have seen that coming. I think a new phone which was a gift from my brother was the final nail in the coffin. The first video I made with it to be precise, was the point when everything has changed. The funny thing is that I have picked up photography in the first place because the idea of filming, storing all those videos and uploading them with my super slow internet… well… let’s just say, it didn’t look too attractive, and I have decided it wasn’t an option for me. Oh, and I couldn’t have sell and present my videos in such a nice way as the photographs. Not that I have sold any or it was my priority, but yea… at that time the dream was big and lucrative. Any way, there were many situation where I wanted to share something with a viewer, but the photographs were too limiting. I was going wider and wider with the choice of my lenses, but it helped me only to a degree. With a moving picture, not constrained to any particular frame, I can show what I love about certain places and things. Nothing really changed though, I still don’t like the idea of storing video files, uploading them with the same slow ass internet, and everything else to be honest… BUT! My last journey was totally dominated by videos… I have taken like 3 or so photographs, and made tens of short video clips which excited me so much. When I felt that great excitement while I was filming, that feeling that I can share everything what I see with a viewer, that was it. I knew this is the place I want to be. There are still many great things to photograph, and ideally I should have two systems with me; one for photographs and the other one for videos. Maybe I will be able to come up with something that will satisfy me in both. I don’t know… I really am up to my ears in filming. I don’t know where it all goes… I just know I love it, and this is my new way of expressing what I love. ” Juiced Out ” by tgchan ( Pentax K-5 II s + SMC Pentax-FA* 85mm F1.4 [IF] )

” Fruits, a close relatives of vegetables. When you think about the first ones, it’s hard not to think about the second, and the other way around. They are like yin and yang. Vegetables are still quite a mystery to me, but fruits, I believe I have them figured out. Do you know why they are so sweet, delicious and fun to eat? Well, their sole existence reason is to travel, spread across the lands and to guarantee survival of its species. Though, I still do not understand why and how fruits without pits, stones, pips and seeds work in general. I mean if they do not contain them, they kind of invalidate my theory and conception of their existence. Maybe they are only decoys, I don’t know. All seeds are designed to withstand stomach acid, in fact, it prepares them to begin a new life somewhere else once they are pooed out. This is why they look and taste so nice. They are meant to be seen from far, draw our attention with their bright colours, sweet taste and interesting looks. Vegetables on the other hand, well… they taste just okay, do not have vibrant colours; not that it matters a lot since most of them live underground any way, and they are just meh in general. So what do they have so special? Well, I like to call them vitamin bombs. The name itself is self-explanatory, so there is no need to write more about it. I don’t know their purpose of existence just yet, but I believe the nature had to balance them out somehow. Since they are not as attractive as fruits are, perhaps they are packed with lots of good things. I mean, this is what I believe, and it helps me greatly to enjoy eating them even more. Going back to fruit, I freaking love them after a hard physical training~!! There is nothing better to eat right after a gruesome workout. They are juicy, healthy, come with vitamins, and there is something primal and straightforward about it that I like a lot. Thank you for being fruits~!! “

” Miscellaneous ” by tgchan ( Pentax K-5 II s + SMC Pentax-FA 77mm F1.8 Limited )

” Beautiful interesting miscellaneous embedded in grey and boring matter. If I would be a child now again and saw this in real life, I would be planning and plotting immediately on extracting those gems. I remember when I was a kid, we used to hit similar wall with rocks and other things in order to get some nice pieces of it. There was this fountain located on a military premises, right next to a housing estate where my grandparents live (actually it was the special housing estate for military personnel families), and the wall circling it was made of concrete with embedded colourful glass. There were also three pyramid-like sculptures in the centre of the fountain which also had pieces of colourful glass in them. We used to sneak into military premises to reach this beautiful construction, and of course to get some of those precious jewels. Imagine a bunch of kids hitting old fountain with rocks, smashing it to pieces just to get some slivers of the coloured glass. It must have been such a joyful scene to witness. Of course we knew we are only children and even if soldiers would catch us, we would talked our way out of it. Obviously nobody in their right mind would like to find themselves in such scenario, so when someone spotted us, we ran away faster than wind. After some time, we have found even better spot than the fountain. It turned out, they were liquidating something we had no idea about, maybe another fountain, but there were huge piles of rubble, which also contained plenty of colourful glass that we were mining so persistently. Unfortunately my happiness didn’t last too long… After a few trips to our new discovered place, I cut my hand wide open with one of those precious treasures… it had to be stitched. As far as I remember that was my last journey there… So when I recently saw this little wall with colourful stuff in it, my mind went crazy and took me right back to those carefree times… I think the real fun had finished when we found plenty of what we were trying to get so hard. I think it is true with life in general. If you can get something easily, there is no much of a value to it… “

” Terrestrial Sensors ” by tgchan ( Pentax K-5 II s + SMC Pentax-FA 31mm F1.8 AL Limited )

” Dancing on the wind… Inertly bending in all directions… weak and powerless, nonetheless, very important. One of the many, terrestrial sensors, constantly gathering new information from the surface of our planet, sending it deep down to the core of the mainframe. They come in different shapes and sizes, but no one really knows how they differ in their functionality. Some people claim that gathered data from our lives is sent directly to the very main CPU. Next, translated and shaped accordingly to what our reality should look like. Funny tiny, fragile antennae if you ask me… and why the hell there are so many of them anyway? It looks like everything is hard-wired. So simple, yet so sophisticated. Can our straightforward thinking ever get us to the point where we fully understand what is going on around us? Is it even possible? Are we capable of such knowledge? Sick tired of all this thinking… I remember grabbing one of those funny wiggly antennae, and shouting straight into it; WHO THE HELL AM I and WHAT AM I DOING HERE~?!! ANSWER ME~!! Unfortunately, I have not received any answer to this day… Perhaps I have grabbed the faulty one… Perhaps, my message has been disrupted by all the rage in my tone? Or maybe I am just mad, and I have been talking to a piece of plant… “
