” Groups Of Understanding ” by tgchan ( Sony A6500 + Sony Zeiss 24mm f/1.8 )

A group of people here. A group of people there. You can rarely see somebody alone. And even if you do, there is a great chance they are just going to meet somebody. People are definitely not meant to live alone. So what gives that some people can’t imagine life without bunch of random friends around them whilst others can’t imagine being amongst almost anyone? I believe it is a matter of personality and its complexity. People without the greater depth are more likely to find someone similar to them than people whose nature is rather complex. If you are not on the same page as others, there is a good chance you will not be liked or enjoy the company of those people, probably both. Being alone is not a fate though. It is a choice you make. Of course some people have it much harder to find somebody similar to themselves, if they live in a small town or village for example. It is a matter of time and determination though, so if you really want to find some friend with whom you could share your weirdness, don’t lose hope; it is by all means possible. So going further down this road I’ve tried to answer my own question: why am I alone? I’ve come to a conclusion there is no single reason behind it, rather a combination of a few. The biggest one would be; it’s my choice. My complexity is beyond a chance to find anyone on the same page. The best case scenario for me is to find someone in the same book. My requirements and expectations are similar to my dreams, they’re almost unreal to reach. I don’t even clearly remember how it feels to be around a bunch of good friends any more. I used to have that in the time of my childhood and it was great, but… There’s just too much going on in my head right now, I wouldn’t be able to focus. So yea… it is my choice. It is nice to know there are people who would take their time and try to understand me though, I know they’re out there. Thank you for being and sorry for my isolation.

” Sweet Spike ” by tgchan ( Pentax K-5 II s + SMC Pentax-F 50mm F2.8 Macro )

” Nobody likes Sweet Spike… As a matter of fact, nobody liked him ever since he was born. He used to be quite a nice fellow, you know? Unfortunately his strange looks, weird diet and not so much fresh breath made him really unpopular. He’s genuinely desperate nowadays, he just flies around and tries to hug anyone… that can’t be good, can it? He used to be charming, really smart and with a good talk. Sadly enough, time changes everyone… and for poor Sweet Spike the change was not for the better… I mean, I don’t blame him, you know? How would you personally feel if everyone, without any exception, would hate you from the moment they meet you? Not nice, huh? And it wasn’t nice for Spike as well… All he ever wanted was to be just like others; nice, colourful, likeable, cute and things like that. Didn’t work out at all… He got beaten many times, with many different things; newspapers, towels, flip-flops, got electrocuted, sprayed with chemicals and so much more… It’s just painful, you know? Not just for the body, but for the soul as well… Poor Spike, I heard he got addicted to pooh again too. It is not his fault really? The freaking nature designed him like that, what can he do about it? Nothing, exactly… so why all the hate!? Sweet Spike~!! Not everyone hates you~!! Can you hear me~!? Don’t you do anything stupid~!! Some of us understand how you feel and you are not alone~!! Unluckily… Sweet Spike is not with us any more… Those were my last words to him, and this is the last photograph of him. Sweet Spike was found dead at a hotel room in Des Moines, Iowa, on May 25. Test results have shown he died of an accidental diarrhoea overdose. He is survived by… no one. You won’t be missed, but you were still… pretty fly for a stinky guy. “

” Ribs ” by tgchan ( Pentax K-5 II s + SMC Pentax-FA 31mm F1.8 AL Limited )

” Every creation, physical or not, big or small, long term or just a short one, they all need a solid construction, the thing that will uphold the weight of the future plans. The greater the plan, the greater support is required. Tough ribs to protect soft and fragile investment. The question is… is it worth building all that around something that may never appear inside of it in the first place? How do you know? How can you be sure? What if it is just an illusion? A dream that will always stay just a dream… Is this what has happened here? Is it an empty cage of ribs protecting someone’s dream that has never come true? Was I here too early? Is the dream still possible to be fulfilled? Or is it just another skeleton left behind… A brutally interrupted vision, a reminder of something that could have been someone’s escape from the usual… A great dream that has shattered against sharp edges of the broken reality. The light… is it still with it? Or has it already started taking it apart? It looks so solid… so enormous… By the look of it, it looks like a real big honest love, I have seen it before. What happened? Something tragic must have happened. Those ribs… so secure, almost completed. Great plans, amazing love, big happy family… What could have possibly stop such hard work and dedication… Perhaps, I am indeed too early here. Maybe it all is still in movement, still alive, still has got a future… Maybe I was just… too early… “

” New Year Same Year Every Year ” by tgchan ( Pentax K-5 II s + SMC Pentax-F 50mm F2.8 Macro )

” I am not gonna lie… I love a New Year’s Eve. I even love it every year. I also hate it, exactly as much as I love it, when the last visible firework fade away in the darkness of night… The short period between two weeks before Christmas and New Year’s Eve, must be my favourite time in a whole year. The energy and the positive aura is amazing. I love to feel that moment when everyone is so focused on their life; preparation, presents, stress and everything else. It feels like everything around me is going at least three times faster than normal, and I just love to observe it from the perspective of my slow and derailed life… People seem to be different at that time as well, I like them that way. The moment when the last firecracker finally disappears from the sky, is also the moment when I get that weird feeling that the clock has been just rested, and everyone is bound to get back to what they have been previously doing, all year round. Another year, another example that your own plans mean nothing to the plans that have been made for you. That night was supposed to be so special, other than all previous ones… Finally someone to share emotions with, a chance to start a new year like never before, but no… I guess it wasn’t meant for me. At least, not just yet. Once again, my life has been adjusted to the path I didn’t choose. Maybe this is what I wanted somewhere deep down… Maybe it saved me from something that wasn’t good for me… Oh well, at least I had a chance to capture this beautiful moment. “

” Oranged ” by tgchan ( Pentax K-5 II s + SMC Pentax-FA* 85mm F1.4 [IF] )

” I am always curious of the setting of the sun. Sometimes, it gives you a wild spectrum of weird colours across the sky. Sometimes, it can even make everything around you look like it’s out of this planet. I was lucky enough to witness it a couple of times myself. It is a truly magnificent experience. Everything you look at, is drowned in colours that should not be there. They are unique, magical and makes your jaw drop with awe. Suddenly, you feel like you are somewhere else… like it’s not your planet any more, or the world is ending. Unfortunately, it lasts only minutes, and the sun is gone a short while after… taking this breathtaking visual effect with its departure. The photograph you are looking at, is the beginning of one of those moments. At that time, I didn’t know about it. I thought it’s just a nice sunset, that’s all. So when I shot what I wanted, and I saw the sun getting behind the horizon taking most of the available light with it, I decided to go back home. At about the halfway of my way back, I noticed that colours around me are getting pretty weird. All pink, magenta and purple shades were dancing right in front of my eyes, making everything around me look bizarre. At that point, I realised that I am going to miss out this marvellous occurrence… even worse~!! I was going to miss it with the camera in my hands. I thought to myself; it’s not gonna happen~!! So I started to run, and run hard to the only place that could give me at least a slightest chance to capture this rare beauty of nature. As I was running along, I had those beautiful photographs I wanted to have so bad, right in front of my eyes… Did I get at least one of them? Well, we will see about it… the next weekend… “

” It Does Not Matter ” by tgchan ( Pentax K-5 II s + Samyang 8mm F3.5 Fisheye CS II )

” It does not matter…. You do not need a great looking panorama, mountains, rivers, seas and oceans… There is no need for an open sky with a beautiful palette of warm colours from the sun. All you really need is… just yourself. It is you who can create the reality that surrounds you. You have got the power to feel what you want to feel. It doesn’t take much to trigger a chain of positive feelings about something. It takes time to learn how to do it, but once you learn it, it’s like riding a bike. Sometimes, it is triggered by external factors like: the sun, warm breeze, long shadows, or just a random place. It can be anything really. Once you learn to be “sensitive”, you may get triggered unexpectedly by simple things, the little ones; like a smell, or the way someone looked at you. Other times, you have to put in some effort, think about some positive things and chain them manually, creating greater and greater feeling of happiness. Me personally, I love those random encounters that make me feel special and so happy, even though I know they do not last for very long. As for the manual chaining those little happy things into a bigger and more steady state of happiness… Well, I treat it as my plan B, a handy tool to get me out of the darker moments of my thinking. Can you see this photograph? It was one of those random encounters, triggered totally unexpectedly, just by being there. It feels a little bit like jumping into a pool. You just step into it. You go, everything is normal, and at some point you just stop. You start noticing that it feels different in this particular place. There is some kind of unexplained energy beaming from it, and it feels amazing. You just stand there and can’t move, well you can, but you do not want to. Everything feels so beautiful… Warm sun, amazing shadows, even the texture of an old and broken pavement looks out of this world. It just… I don’t know… It feels like my mind is breaching the boundaries of what you can perceive with normal senses. It is addictive. Every time I go for another walk with my camera, I quietly wish to feel that again. I think… I have managed to capture some of it… in this photograph. Please, have a look. “

” Green Starry Fellow ” by tgchan ( Pentax K-5 II s + Samyang 8mm F3.5 Fisheye CS II )

” Damn… I feel so lazy today… I should be writing something smart here, but I am so not in the mood… and my god damn lower back hurts too… Anyway, this is the plant and it looks cool. Thanks-Bye-Please come again. Hah, nah… I am just joking… but I really do feel extremely lazy right now, and I don’t feel like I have got some nice writing in me today. Maybe it is the photograph… maybe it is just boring, and this is why I can’t write anything interesting about it? Hmm… but I like it. There is something about this scene. All those shapes, light and patterns, they speak to me in some weird language I do not understand, but I still like what I am hearing nonetheless… It feels like someone has spent more than enough time for this place. Caring about details, preparing it, like she would know that one day I would come and capture her work. I said ‘she’ because I think we can mutually agree, no dude would do such a thing, right? But then again… I might be mistaken. Oh well, it doesn’t really matter who did it anyway. The important thing is, it has been created, and I had a chance to capture it, that is all that matters. I wonder what is your favourite thing in this scene. I totally love the upper part of the lace curtain. It looks like some wicked sea waves during a dark and stormy night. The starry plant itself, doesn’t look too bad either. Hmm… the longer I look at it, the more things I like about it. I am glad it made it through. Damn… all this writing reminded me about very important thing. Never ever force yourself to anything, unless you really have no choice about it. It is just a waste of energy. I don’t say nothing good can come out of it, but the whole process is such a chore, that it may give a totally opposite result in the long run. Just go with the flow, and when it doesn’t go smoothly, leave it there, change direction, and do not look behind. Real talent doesn’t require a heck of a lot of energy to do things, you just do them, and you are not really getting tired from doing them. That’s the beauty of a talent. So, if this is what you are after, it is quite easy to notice if you are on the right path. Take care. “

” Super Cosy Spot ” by tgchan ( Pentax K-5 II s + Samyang 8mm F3.5 Fisheye CS II )

” Not in direct sunlight but in shadows… not in complete darkness though, my sweet spot lies. Somewhere between those two… Somewhere close, so I can see the transition clearly and derive the best of both worlds. Once the light weakens, the shadow grows stronger, slowly devouring and conquering the lands that originally belonged to it. The war will be over soon enough, but the victory is not permanent, nothing ever is… What you take, must be eventually returned. The light still fights strong, bravely pushing darkness back to its black roots. Futile resistance, yet so noble and admirable. I stand there and observe two of the greatest powers duelling for domination, right in front of my eyes… Me, a mere mortal… and even though I know whose turn to win is this time, it’s still magnificent to be a witness of it. Besides, you can never be certain of anything. I can already feel the chills of darkness on my back, but my eyes are focused on warmth of the light in front of me. Beautiful… isn’t it? Now, the best thing is that I can start moving with the darkness, chasing the light and feel the power of the winner. If I choose to… I can step into the light, and start feeling the dread of annihilation, running away in fear. Everything changes… things once so obvious become mysterious. Familiar shapes start becoming unknown and ominous. Uncertainty… is it really the place where happiness dwells? Or is it the moment when you can choose between two things, but you have still not decided, draining positive energy from the both possible realities at the same time? You know you will have to decide what to choose eventually, losing one thing or another as a result of a decision, but you keep stalling the moment, enjoying the freedom of choice. Is it a freedom? Why do I have to choose? Can I choose not to choose? Where am I going with all this…? It doesn’t matter what hides underneath… Just enjoy it. The very same way, I have enjoyed being at my super cosy spot for that brief moment. “

” Questioning ” by tgchan ( Pentax K-5 II s + Samyang 8mm F3.5 Fisheye CS II )

” Have you ever wondered if our fate is a reflection of our past or future deeds? What if what we did in the past, is the outcome of what happens now? What if the things that happen now, are the reversed echoes of what we will do in the future? When we are young, we tend to ask lots of questions connected with the reality we perceive. Once we grow older and feast our eyes long enough, we start asking questions about things that are beyond our sight. Let us take this another step forward… What if our life is the balance of the previous one? The total opposite, the sum that brings everything to a perfect equilibrium… all that just to turn everything upside down… once again, in a while. You have got to be careful about this, if you are not… You may find yourself strapped to a chair, doing nothing but trying to answer a downpour of questions without real answers. We are not designed to breach boundaries and go beyond our capabilities of understanding things we shouldn’t have known about. Once you start asking the wrong questions, looking what is hiding behind the blueprint of the life, you will get caught. You will find yourself in a room without the exit. The only way out of that place, will be a dark tunnel, filled with everything you are and always were afraid of. You can choose to descent into it and face your nightmares, or you can stay locked inside of it, for the rest of your life… trying to solve the puzzle, which is clearly missing a few crucial pieces. “

” Faceless ” by tgchan ( Pentax K-5 II s + SMC Pentax-FA 77mm F1.8 Limited )

” Faceless Angels walking down the face of earth… like a wind, passing transparently between souls lost and broken. They judge, analyse, take and give. You may never know when you meet one of those wretched creations, once of a heavenly descent. Ruined, knocked off, shattered, disgraced… and finally cast away. Forever trapped between the worlds of eternal flame and clouds, unwanted… thrown away. Evermore imprisoned in wander without a destination. Enslaved in order to do things no other great being wish to do. Pulling down those who ascent way to fast, giving a boost to those of critical need. All this and many more demeaning deeds, constantly surrounded by ever rotting flesh, dirt and filth of mankind that multiplies like a disease. The face that haunts, the hands that scrape and the mossy breath… insides filled with nothing, programmed for indifference and apathy, perpetually impassive. It’s not here to help you, it’s not there to hinder… It’s not your friend nor the enemy… Balance, it’s the only thing of its interest. My Fair Stone Wingless Lady, have you finally come to raise me… or you’re here to crush me, and put me out of my misery… “
